Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Boxcompute Technology (registration no. 202603268533 (KT0622730-K), registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia), which runs BoxCompute (“BoxCompute”, “we”, “us”). They cover our website, the web app at app.boxcompute.ai, the mobile app, and our API, CLI, SDKs and MCP server (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you use BoxCompute for an organization, you agree for that organization too.

The service

BoxCompute gives AI agents their own cloud computers. You can chat with the BoxCompute agent, which works on a Linux virtual machine (VM) we run for you, or connect your own agent to VMs through our API. Features, models, regions and limits change as the product develops.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
• Give accurate sign-up details and keep your email address working. We use it for account and billing notices.
• One free account per person. Don’t create extra accounts to get more free credit or to get around limits.
• Keep your password, sessions and API keys secure. You are responsible for activity on your account, including what your agents and API keys do.
• Tell us at [email protected] if you think your account has been compromised.

Credit, free limits and plans

• Welcome credit and other promotional credit are free. They expire on the date shown in the app, have no cash value, and can’t be transferred, refunded or used to pay for a subscription.
• Free accounts have limits, such as a daily AI allowance and how many chats and VMs can run at once. We may change free credit and free limits at any time.
• A running VM uses credit by the second at the rates shown in the app. When your credit runs out, running VMs are stopped and keep their files.
• Starter is a monthly subscription billed through Stripe. It renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the app, and your plan continues until the end of the period you paid for.
• Plan credit resets each month. Top-ups don’t expire while your account is open.
• Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund or we choose to give one.
• Prices may change. We will tell you before a new price applies to your subscription. Taxes may apply where the law requires them.

Your content

You own what you put into BoxCompute and what your agent makes for you, such as prompts, files, code and results (“your content”). You let us host, copy, process and transmit your content only as needed to run, secure and support the service, including sending it to the model providers that handle your requests. We handle personal information as our Privacy policy describes.

You are responsible for having the rights to your content and for following the laws that apply to it.

AI and your agent

• AI output can be wrong, incomplete or unsafe. Check it before you rely on it.
• Your agent acts on your instructions and your approval settings. You are responsible for what it does with your account, your VMs, and the services and credentials you connect to it.
• Don’t rely on BoxCompute alone for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on people.

Third-party services

Parts of the service come from other companies, such as model providers, Stripe and GitHub, and their terms may also apply when you use them through BoxCompute. When you bring your own model key or model server, that provider bills you directly and we aren’t responsible for its service.

Acceptable use

Follow our Acceptable Use Policy. It is part of these terms.

Your data and backups

VMs can fail and their files can be lost. Keep copies of anything important, for example in Assets or your own storage. Deleting a VM or your account permanently deletes its files. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for data lost from a VM.

Suspension and closing an account

You can stop using BoxCompute and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or close your account, stop your VMs, remove previews or content, or revoke API keys if you break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if your use puts the service, other customers or anyone else at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we will tell you why. Promotional credit ends when an account is closed.

Availability

We work to keep BoxCompute running, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Beta and early-access features may change or end. Nothing in these terms removes rights the law gives you that can’t be excluded by contract.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will publish the new version here with a new effective date and tell you by email or in the app before a material change takes effect. If you keep using BoxCompute after that, the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia decide disputes about them.
