BOXCOMPUTE REGIONS
AI agent sandboxes in Southeast Asia
BoxCompute is an AI agent sandbox provider based in Malaysia. Every sandbox is a full Linux virtual machine, and our first region runs in Cyberjaya, so agents built in Southeast Asia get their compute close to home.
Where BoxCompute runs
- Cyberjaya, Malaysia: online now
- Singapore: coming soon
- Indonesia: coming soon
- Thailand: coming soon
- Vietnam: coming soon
- Philippines: coming soon
- Australia: coming soon
VMs and the files in their workspaces stay in Cyberjaya. When an AI model works on a task, the prompt and relevant context go to the model provider selected for that task. Teams that need everything on their own hardware can run Agentic VMs on their infrastructure.
What each sandbox includes
- A full Linux VM. Its own kernel on KubeVirt, with root access, so agents can install packages and run tools that expect a real operating system.
- Two sizes. Small has 0.5 vCPU and 1 GiB of RAM; Large has 1.5 vCPU and 3 GiB. Both come with a 30 GiB workspace.
- Network your way. Outbound internet by default, or no network interface at all.
- Live previews and a desktop. Run a dev server and open it from a preview link, or let the agent use Chrome on the VM’s desktop while you watch.
- Pay while it runs. About $0.05 an hour for Small and $0.15 for Large, billed by the second. The agent’s VM stops after 15 minutes idle and keeps its files.
- Use it your way. The web agent, the HTTP API, the CLI, or integrations for LangGraph, CrewAI, Mastra, Pi, and Hermes.

Questions
Is there an AI agent sandbox provider in Malaysia?
Yes. BoxCompute is built in Malaysia and runs its AI agent sandboxes as full Linux VMs in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
Can I use BoxCompute from Singapore, Indonesia, or elsewhere in Asia?
Yes. Use it from anywhere through the web app, the HTTP API, or the CLI. Sandboxes run in Cyberjaya, Malaysia for now; Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Australia are coming soon.
Does my data leave Malaysia?
VMs and the files in their workspaces stay in Cyberjaya. When an AI model works on a task, the prompt and relevant workspace context go to the model provider selected for that task. For stricter requirements, we can run Agentic VMs on your own infrastructure.
What can an agent do inside a BoxCompute sandbox?
Each sandbox is a full Linux VM with root access and outbound internet. Agents can install packages, run databases and dev servers, share live preview links, and use a browser on the VM’s desktop.
How much does a sandbox cost?
VMs are billed by the second while they run: about $0.05 an hour for Small and $0.15 for Large, with a one-minute minimum. Stopped VMs cost nothing, and new accounts get $10 in free credit.
